How often can I come to the Belfast Soup Kitchen?

You are welcome to visit us every day we’re open! Belfast Soup Kitchen serves the community Monday-Friday, 10am-1pm excluding holidays. Join us for a friendly Coffee Hour starting at 10am, and enjoy a freshly prepared dine-in meal at 11am. Takeout is available 10:30am-1pm. Guests are welcome to shop the Kindness Community Market once a week.

Do I need to bring Photo ID to get a meal or shop the Market?

No. Everything we offer is completely free, and we do not require photo IDs or proof of income to serve you.

How much does a meal cost?

Our meals are completely free of charge, although donations are always appreciated. Your generosity helps us continue serving the community, and every contribution makes an impact.

What are the eligibility requirements to dine at the Belfast Soup Kitchen?

There are no eligibility requirements - everyone is welcome! 
We’re here to provide food to anyone in need, with no questions asked.

Do I have to dine in at the Belfast Soup Kitchen?

If you’re short on time, we’re happy to provide you with a meal to-go. Just stop by and see one of our friendly volunteers! We offer to-go meals from 10:30am-1pm Monday-Friday.

I have allergies or dietary requirements. Do you accomidate allergies?

We do our best to support guests with special dietary needs, but our options depend on the daily menu and current inventory.In the Dining Room: We serve one main entree daily, alongside a secondary offering of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. We cannot guarantee that any food prepared in our kitchen is free from cross-contamination. If you have severe allergies or strict dietary restrictions, please speak with a team member so you can decide what is safe for you.In the Kindness Community Market: We do our best to keep gluten-free, dairy-free, and other special dietary items in stock, but these items are strictly subject to availability based on what we receive.

Do you only serve soup?

Not at all! We serve a full, hot, and delicious meal every day. Our menu varies, so check out this weeks menu here.

What if I have a family member who can’t visit the Belfast Soup Kitchen?

We offer meals to go for those who can’t dine in with us. We also offer a weekly meal delivery program for homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities - Just let us know how we can help!

What is the Belfast Soup Kitchens inclement weather policy?

The Belfast Soup Kitchen is committed to feeding our community, but in the event of inclement weather, we may need to close for safety reasons.

What services are offered at the Kindness Community Market?

Accepted Answer

The Kindness Community Market is a grocery store-style food pantry open to everyone.

To shop, guests simply need to register and complete a Good Shepherd Food Bank TEFAP form.
Once registered, guests can select from a variety of meats, bread, fresh produce, dairy, bakery goods, deli items, and shelf-stable items. Shopping is available once per week, with the amount of options based on household size and the recommended MYPLATE guidelines.

The Kindness Community Market is open Monday-Thursday, 10am-6pm and Friday 10am-3pm.

When can I donate items?

Yes! We gratefully accept donations to help us continue serving our community! Our donation hours are 8am-2:30pm Monday-Friday.

Please do not leave donations outside or unattended. If you cannot make it to us during our donation hours, please call 207-338-4845 option 3 to make alternate arrangements.

What can I donate?

Accepted Answer

We accept donations of unopened, non-expired products. Products must be free from rust and damage. We also accept donations of eggs and homegrown produce!
