MaineHealth Waldo Hospital’s Community Health team offers free and low-cost health education, screenings, and outreach programs. They connect community members directly to vital resources, including medication assistance, transportation assistance, food support, and local care options.

Belfast Public Health Nurse, Megan Harvey, is here to make sure everyone in our community can get the care they need - especially if you do not have health insurance or cannot afford a doctor. Her main job is to keep people healthy, prevent sickness before it starts, and connect you with help when you need it most. How a Public Health Nurse can help you: Free Health Checks: Get your blood pressure checked, get a flu shot, or join a free health screening. Stop the Spread of Sickness: They track local illnesses and give medicine or vaccines to keep the whole town safe. New Season’s "On the Road to Recovery" Mobile Medication Unit delivers convenient opioid addiction treatment directly into local communities to reduce transportation barriers. The unit offers on-site medication-assisted treatment (MAT)—including daily dosing and intake inductions—alongside harm reduction support, crisis counseling, and telehealth care.
